Goa Weather in November

November is a popular month to visit Goa, as the monsoon season has passed, temperatures rise and a lush green landscape has been left following the rain. Average maximum day time temperatures are at a warm 32ºC during November, and the evening temperatures are pleasant, averaging around 24ºC. The beaches are particularly inviting at this time of the year as the water is a warm 29ºC, and as November passes, you'll notice that practically no clouds appear in the sky. As one of the best times to visit Goa, perhaps it's time for a bit of beach hopping?

Goa Weather in December

An ideal time to escape the winter blues of the UK, the weather in Goa in December will provide a nice healthy dose of vitamin D. Slightly cooler than November however still averaging at a rather inviting 31ºC, December temperatures are ideal for both beach lovers and those wishing to get involved in the various festivals and events happening in Goa. These include the annual Feast of St Francis Xavier and of course, Christmas.

Goa Weather in January

If you're looking to get out and about and discover Goa's colourful markets and wonderful historical sites, then January is certainly a good time to head out and explore. As one of the state's cooler months, averaging around 28ºC, you could discover Old Goa, take a trip to the impressive Dudhsagar Waterfalls, or wander around the vibrant markets. Or you can still, of course, enjoy the array of beautiful beaches.

With maximum temperatures averaging around 28ºC, February is very similar to January weather in that it's a great time to get out and about and explore. It's an ideal month for family holidays to Goa, as the temperature is not as its hottest, but it is still certainly more than warm enough to enjoy a day or two building sandcastles on the beach.

If you're a real sun worshipper and can think of nothing better than relaxing by a pool or on the golden sands of an exotic beach, then March is an ideal time to holiday in Goa. As the driest month of the year with maximum day time temperatures rising to an average of 30ºC, grab your beach towel and sun tan lotion and relax by the glistening Arabian Sea. You'll also find the evenings are warm at around 24ºC, and there's around 11 hours of sunshine to enjoy.

With 12 hours of sunshine a day and sea temperatures averaging 29ºC, April is another month which is perfect for beach lovers. Apora's Saturday night market is a great place to visit if you're after some some mouth-watering street food or souvenirs from your holiday in Goa, and, if you visit over the Easter period be sure to head to Old Goa, where you will find some wonderful Easter celebrations.

Goa Weather in May

During the month of May, the temperature and humidity begin to rise as Goa prepares to start the annual monsoon season. However, even though there is a noticeable increase in rainfall during this month, even at the end of May there is only up to 38% risk of rainfall. If you're not phased by humid weather, then it's still a nice time to enjoy the state's beautiful beaches, although even at night time the temperatures do not drop much lower than 27ºC. It's also worth noting that the shacks along the beach begin to be dismantled during May, in preparation for monsoon season.

In June the temperature begins to cool slightly as the rains become more prevalent, and the monsoon season starts to take hold. A typical amount of rainfall for this month is around 868mm, and by the end of the month, probability of rainfall rises to 78%. During the whole of this monsoon season, extremely high tides affect many of the beaches, where much of the sand is washed away.

September sees the monsoon season begin to wane, and expected rainfall decreases to around 252mm for the month. The sea temperature increases during September, and the by the end of the month, the likelihood of rain drops down to around 56%. The overcast sky slowly starts to dispurse, however humidity remains fairly high.
