Hampi World Heritage Site

Hampi is one of India’s most stunning and fascinating archaeological sites, today recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, though once serving as the imperial capital of Vijayanagar in the 14th century.

This two-night and three-day excursion is perfect for those looking to delve further into the cultural and historical prowess of Southern India during their Goa holiday, introducing visitors to one of the largest Hindu empires in Indian history. You don’t just have to be a culture vulture or history buff to be amazed by the ruins of Hampi, such is the site’s grandeur and intricacy.

Hampi Excursion

Your early morning collection from your hotel and subsequent train journey will see you arrive in the town of Hospet, 13km from Hampi and where your hotel is based, in the late afternoon. An early dinner and the chance to shop in Hospet’s vibrant market will define your evening’s activities before grabbing an early night as you prepare for your tour of the archaeological site the following day.

A full day’s guided tour of Hampi’s primary sites will populate the morning of your second day, before taking a break for a delicious Indian lunch. After a few hours of rest at your hotel you will then be taken on a guided walk along the beautiful Tunghabadra River, before proceeding to the highest point of Hampi from where you can end your tour with a stunning sunset. The return journey the following day will see you arrive back in Goa in the early afternoon.
