The tour will begin with a morning flight from Goa International Airport to the city of Mumbai, India's most densely populated city. After arriving in the city, you'll will embark on a half day city tour, starting at Dhobi Ghat, the largest open air laundry in the world. Next up is the Mani Bhavan mansion where Mahatma Gandhi was hosted between 1917 and 1934, and then a visit to Malabar Hill via the Tower of Silence and the Hanging Gardens which are built over Mumbai's reservoir. The final stop is the impressive and informative Prince of Wales Museum, known locally as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya. After exploring the museum, you'll be transferred to your hotel before checking in for the night.
The second day of the tour will begin with an early start as you begin your journey to the Elephanta Caves, located on Gharapuri Island within Mumbai Harbour. The caves are home to some of India's most impressive temple carvings, created between AD 450 and 750 and intricately carved into the basalt stone of the cave walls. The caves are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and attract visitors from all over the world - don't forget to charge your camera batteries! After exploring the caves, a transfer will take you back to the airport for your return flight to Goa.
