Holidays to Goa in March

Here's why Goa is one of our favourite March holiday destinations...
As the driest month of the year and with average temperatures of 30°C, a trip to Goa in March is one of the best times to visit India’s sunshine state. It’s the perfect month for topping up your tan as there are 11 hours of sunshine, and if you want to go out and explore instead, you’re guaranteed the weather to do it.

Festivals
There are plenty of fantastic festivals throughout the year in Goa. For example, Shigmo is a bright and colourful festival which takes place during March, where elaborate processions, live music and folk dancers fill the streets, showcasing Goan tradition in all its glory. You’ll also find lots of tasty street food during the 14-night event, which makes its way through the state. Find out more about festivals and events in Goa here.

Beach hopping
If you’re a self-confessed beach bum, you don’t have to get caught up in the festivals that happen during March, and you can certainly find a quiet spot under a palm tree to get lost in your favourite book. Some of Goa’s top beaches for completely relaxing can be found in the laid-back south, such as Agonda, which boasts soft golden sand and a small selection of rustic beach shacks. Arossim Beach is another peaceful stretch of coastline, backed by coconut palms, with white sand lapped by clear blue waters.
