Looking for a family holiday that's slightly further afield and offers some once- in-a-lifetime opportunities? Goa could be the perfect destination...
A place where fantastic hotels and beautiful palm-backed beaches can be found in abundance, Goa is immediately a beach lover's paradise. Although this exotic destination may initially catch your attention as perfect for a honeymoon or holiday for two, if you dig a little deeper you'll find that it's also great for families (and you don’t need to spend a small fortune to enjoy a holiday in Goa either).
With its Portuguese and Indian heritage, Goa is a fantastic soft introduction to India. You can also enjoy different experiences depending on what part of Goa you choose to visit. The vibrant and bustling north of Goa is a busier alternative to the laid-back south, however the beaches you’ll find in both regions are fantastic. You’ve also got the central region which is ideal if your family love to soak up local culture and heritage. With lots of different resort areas to choose from in all three of Goa’s regions, whether you want a relaxing family holiday, where many hotels offer kid's clubs, or an adventurous one- there’s something to suit your family.

We’ve put together three of our favourite hotels for families, so you can investigate accordingly. Plus, it’s worth remembering that we offer child discounts on many of our hotels (including the ones below).
Taj Holiday Village Resort & Spa | Sinquerim
A wonderful hotel along the shores of Sinquerim Beach. Striking views of Fort Aguada can be seen from the expansive grounds, where lush and verdant gardens are perfect for a relaxing stroll down to the beach. The Goan-Portuguese style buildings provides pops of colour amongst the lawns and many of the rooms have terraces or balconies to enjoy the gardens from.
The beachfront dining area is perfect to enjoy an al-fresco breakfast and there are plenty of other culinary delights for lunchtime and evening dining at the range of restaurants available at the hotel. The elevated pool is an inviting area to while away a warm day, whilst there are also plenty of activities from tennis to yoga and gym facilities.
Caravela Beach Resort | Varca
If you love lots of facilities for both adults and children, and a beach on the doorstep which is arguably one of Goa’s best, then look no further than the Caravela Beach Resort. With a relaxing spa and yoga sessions for the adults, there’s also tennis, golf, snooker and table tennis for the whole family, and a kids’ club too. If that wasn’t enough, there’s a pool, four restaurants, three bars, and of course, a fantastic stretch of pure white sand where you can build sandcastles until your heart’s content.
ITC Grand Goa | Arossim
If you’re looking to splash out a little more for your family holiday, the ITC Grand Goa is a great choice. You’ve got the white sands of Arossim Beach on your doorstep, where there’s also a fantastic beach shack restaurant called Zeebops. If you want to go for a wander, you can hop in a taxi and explore laid-back local villages such as Betalbatim, but you may find it hard to tear yourself away from the hotel itself. A large, three-tiered pool, seven restaurants and bars, a spa, tennis courts, cinema room, cooking classes and kids’ club are just a handful of the facilities here, many of which are perfect for the whole family.
