Using their first-hand knowledge, our UK team have selected a few hotels to suit a variety of needs, from family-friendly properties to those offering the utmost tranquillity.

There are plenty of amazing properties in Goa, all with their own charm and identities. A few team members recently visited Goa themselves, and they have put together a ‘best hotels for...’ round-up. This guide may just help you decipher which hotel to choose for your next Goan getaway!

Best of the best – The St Regis Goa Resort

This tropical paradise is one of Goa’s most luxurious hotels. Its location on Mobor Beach, one of the best in Goa, offers long stretches of white sand extending for miles. The range of activities available is second to none; from yoga to spa treatments, there is something for everyone looking to indulge.

The lagoons and lush gardens are the perfect place to relax and enjoy the warm sunshine as it trickles through the palms. The service at The St Regis is superb, with butler service available to all rooms and an impeccable standard of hospitality, the staff here anticipate your every need. Enjoy the fine dining available at the on-site restaurants, and admire the Indo-Portuguese style throughout the property, offering intricate design and spacious rooms.

Best value for money – Santana Beach Resort

Located in north Goa, Santana is a tropical paradise right on the beachfront, where guests will feel instantly relaxed and rejuvenated. Santana is a family-run hotel, providing it with a unique charm and welcoming atmosphere. Beach lovers will feel at home as they stroll through the lush gardens on their way to the golden shores of Candolim Beach; the coastline stretches as far as the eye can see, perfect for afternoon strolls or evenings spent stargazing.

The two swimming pools offer a tranquil escape from everyday life, where palm trees surround you, whilst their fronds rustling in the sea breeze provide the soundtrack to your day. Each room has a Portuguese charm, with bright colours, comfortable furnishings and cheerful décor.

Santana is excellent value for money, and in a prime location to explore the popular resort of Candolim. You are just a short stroll from local shops and restaurants and just a 30-minute drive from the splendour of Old Goa.

Best for a taste of Old Goa – The Postcard Cuelim

Sitting within our Unique Collection, The Postcard is a wonderful hotel in Arossim, south Goa. The quaint and quiet village of Cuelim is the backdrop to your holiday when staying here, providing a peaceful and unique retreat, ideal as part of a multi-centre holiday.

The Postcard offers an authentic stay, being a converted heritage property rich in history with strong Goan roots, and has been the location for filming too! The eight rooms within this charming property provide a sense of exclusivity and peace. Each room is designed and decorated with colonial antiques and traditional four-poster beds, whilst at the centre of the property is a 350-year-old chapel from which the hotel takes on its historical significance.

Relax and unwind at the Ayurvedic spa or visit the local town of Arossim.

Best for the beach – ITC Grand Goa Resort & Spa

An alluring hotel that is a beach lover’s paradise! Set in 45 acres of beautifully manicured gardens, lagoons and meandering waterways the hotel’s sought-after position on Arossim Beach is a treat for those seeking pure relaxation on stunning fine white sands. Coconut palms stretch as far as the eye can see, perfect for evening strolls as the sun sets.

The spacious rooms combine Goan charm and simple elegance, the utmost comfort for a lazy beach holiday. Strolling through the extensive grounds, down to the pool is a beautiful experience, with bright blue pools, terracotta pathways and colonial-style buildings.

Best for tranquillity – Ahilya By The Sea

Located in Nerul in a quiet spot in Dolphin Bay, this is the ideal serene escape to find privacy and tranquillity. A boutique hotel with just 10 rooms, ensuring you can always find a peaceful spot within the grounds or around the two pools. The sunrise infinity pool is perfect for morning laps, whilst the sunset plunge pool is enticing for a leisurely dip.

With 10 unique and tastefully decorated rooms providing a home-from-home haven, along with traditional furnishings and fantastic cuisine, this is a fantastic choice for a relaxing luxury holiday in Goa.

Best for families – Taj Holiday Village Resort & Spa

With multiple board options available, a choice of two cottage-style rooms and a short walk from the centre of Candolim, Taj Holiday Village is perfect for convenient family getaways.

Take a stroll along Sinquerim Beach, where soft sands meet warm waters, or catch the shuttle bus to the sister hotel, Taj Fort Aguada, for a change of scenery. There is plenty to do, to ensure you create fantastic family holiday memories.

The large pool is great for families to enjoy the day together, yet there is an adult-only pool for couples to enjoy a more relaxing experience. There are plenty of eating options within the hotel and at the nearby beach shacks, where families can also spend the day playing along the shoreline.
